To continue my point, I think very few of us can truly make long term sustainable progress if we feel like we’re in an unsafe situation where there is high risk if you’re sharing openly. I think the other reason why I like the “no BS” or direct approach is that things are easier if we as humans know where we stand and what the facts of the situation are. It’s much harder to navigate challenges, understand relationships, manage team dynamics, or deal with workplace stressors if the facts are being withheld. Things are significantly easier if people have the facts, because when the facts are in front of us we can figure out what to do with them instead of trying to figure out what is happening when there is a lot of abstract and obscure information.
One of the interesting facts about me is that my education background is really bizarre. I only attended school for 3 grades through elementary school and high school. The rest of the time I was home-schooled. Throughout my home-school years, I never completed another year of school. I would do some studying or reading here and there, but never actually completed another year. My lack of foundational primary years in education made advanced education very challenging for me. Not to mention having an undiagnosed Learning Disability and undiagnosed ADHD). I was always an average student but I was disciplined and studied my butt off, and I ended up with a Masters degree.
Now the stuff you may want to know about whether we’d be a good fit in working together or not. I’m a Registered Psychotherapist by training, I’ve worked with individuals ranging from Human Trafficking Survivors, to C-Suite executives, and everything in between.
I’ve worked one-on-one in a one hour session format, multiple hour days, to multiple day intensive retreats style. I have put together a unique, one of a kind, one-on-one, intensive style retreats that help individuals process trauma, negative thought patterns, and uncomfortable experiences that are still impacting people. I have found that my C-Suite executives really enjoy this type of retreat as it can be done in a 2-4 day period where we can accomplish a year's work in a short period of time. It has made scheduling easier, especially for my clients who travel extensively. I have also worked with various organizations over the years focusing on psychological assessments, curriculum development, training, consulting, and equipping teams. I have provided training ranging from hour long workshops to two week long training sessions. One of the things that I love about providing consultation and training is that I get to make it engaging and informative, making it practical to a team’s daily application. I enjoy helping individuals and teams learn how to communicate in new ways that directly impact each other and help them accomplish their goals.
If you’ve made it this far, thanks for reading. I hope it’s given you a bit of a snapshot as to who I am and what I do. If these things sound interesting to you, feel free to poke around the rest of the site and see what you find.
